Police ID Victim In Fatal Saw Mill Parkway Crash

The accident closed the northbound lanes for five hours.

BEDFORD, NY — The victim of Thursday's fatal one-car crash on the Saw Mill River Parkway has been identified as Robert Leff of Somers. The accident closed the northbound Saw Mill for five hours.

Leff, 51, was traveling northbound in the vicinity of Green Lane when his Toyota Rav 4 left the roadway about 11:25 a.m. and struck a tree, Westchester County police said. He was the only occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Westchester County Police.

The northbound lanes of the Saw Mill River Parkway were closed between Kisco Avenue and Green Lane following the crash. The parkway in that area was reopened to northbound traffic before 6 p.m.

The Bedford Hills and Mount Kisco fire departments assisted at the scene, police said.
