Proposed $120M Katonah-Lewisboro School Budget On The Ballot May 16
Three people are vying for two seats on the Board of Education.

CROSS RIVER, NY — The 2023 budget and school board vote is May 16, and two seats are up for election on the Katonah-Lewisboro School District Board of Education.
The proposed spending plan of $119,988,980 is 3.64 percent higher than the current budget.
The tax levy is expected to rise 1.56 percent, which is below the state's tax cap.

According to the school board, "next year's school budget was developed to reflect our commitment to outstanding education and to responsible spending. It supports implementatio of next generation science standards, classrooms conducive to innovative teaching and learning, and necessary resources to meet the educational needs of all students."
Two board seats will be up for election. Candidates on the ballot include: Lorraine Gallagher and Bill Swertfager. Samantha Hirsch is running as a write-in candidate.

A proposition for bus replacement with electric, hybrid or fuel vehicles will also be on the ballot for voters to decide upon.
Voters may register online with the New York Department of Motor Vehicles, or by mail through the County Board of Elections.
