Reservoir Searched After Reports Of People, Dog On Ice

Multiple agencies reported to the scene to take part in the search.

WHITEHALL CORNER, NY — Multiple emergency vehicles, including a helicopter, were seen and heard Wednesday night around Muscoot Reservoir. According to Trooper Aaron Hicks of the New York State Police, around 5 p.m., two calls were received: one about a dog on the ice; the other, about people on the ice.

The reported area was near Route 35, between Cherry Street and Whitlockville Road.

Hicks said the state police, state police aviation, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and the Katonah, Bedford and Yorktown fire departments were on the scene.

The surrounding area was checked and no people, animals or vehicle was found.

Hicks also said that a diver's search under the ice did not turn up any persons or animals.
