In March 2012, Emily Loudis and Steven Sheerer, both of Village Drive, were both lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail each after they were arrested, Barnegat Lt. Keith Germain said.

Both were charged with possession of heroin and endangering the welfare of Loudis’ children, after the car they were driving was stopped by police as part of the investigation, Germain said.

Loudis, who was driving, had heroin and drug paraphernalia on her, police said. Her children, ages 1 and 3, were in the back seat. They were taken into protective custody by the police and turned over to family members, Germain said.

Loudis was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree possession of heroin, driving under the influence, reckless driving, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, and driving while suspended, Germain said.
