The law enforcement agency that failed miserably trying to teach Star Wars stormtroopers to shoot straight, is back with a brand new video.
NEW YORK — If you're lucky, someday you will find someone who looks at you the way troopers look at donuts in the latest tongue-in-cheek social media video from the New York State Police.
The troopers in the new 20-second-long montage embraced the well-worn stereotype about cops' love for donuts to help celebrate "National Donut Day" in good fun. Police haven't shared a love affair with the iconic circular confection this steamy on the screen since David Lynch's Twin Peaks last aired.

While the bulk of the now- viral video explores troopers' shared delight over a box of donuts at the barracks, by the end of the clip, the viewer might be as jealous of the good-natured teasing and hungry for workplace camaraderie on display as they are for the delicious, delicious donuts on their screens.
There is no doubt these are troubled times and law enforcement is on the frontlines of cultural divides over how to address an epidemic of gun violence. The New York State Police were careful to acknowledge the seriousness of the moment in history, while inviting us to steal a few seconds of joy on this most solemn of holidays honoring those who protect and serve — National Donut Day.
