Simon Malls Offer Scholarships To High School Students Planning On College

One scholarship is awarded from each Simon-owned property.

High school students who live in communities near Simon-owned malls — such as The Westchester in White Plains, The Shops at Nanuet and Woodbury Common Premium Outlets — can apply for a scholarship to help pay for college or vocational school.

The Simon Youth Community Scholarship Program awards a $1,500 scholarship for each Simon property each year.

According to the program’s website, to be eligible, applicants must be a high school senior attending school and living near a Simon mall property or in the surrounding communities.

Applicants must also be a legal resident of the United States and plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school for fall 2017.

Academic promise and financial need must be demonstrated.

The foundation award about $1 million annually to help students with the cost of post-secondary education.
