Snow, Sleet Showers Possible Before Drenching Rain In The HV

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Snow, sleet and freezing rain will overtake much of the region Friday, as unseasonably low temperatures continue. No accumulation is expected, but watch out for ice.

Then expect fog as another storm sweeps in bringing more drenching rain to kick off December.

Plus expect a big change in temperatures.

A warm front will gradually approach from the south Saturday night bringing widespread rain, according to the National Weather Service. The rain will taper off Sunday morning. Temperatures on Saturday will remain chilly in the 40s, but then warm significantly on Sunday as the warm front moves north of the area. Highs on Sunday are forecast to reach the middle and upper 50s with some lower 60s possible in the New York City Metro Area.

"Temperatures may climb to within a few degrees of the record high for Dec. 2," said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.
