State Cops Target Distracted Drivers on I-684

But the Tuesday crackdown mostly caught folks for something else.

The New York State Police conducted a six hour distracted driver detail Tuesday on Interstate 684 in Westchester County.

During the detail, Troopers issued a total of 55 tickets: 10 tickets were for speeding, 3 tickets were for seatbelt violations, 11 tickets for cell phone violations, 23 tickets for move-over law violations and 8 tickets for other vehicle and traffic offenses.

This highway safety initiative perpetuates the mission of the State Police to reduce deaths, injuries and property damage caused by motor vehicle accidents through vehicle and traffic enforcement.
