40K Customers Still Waiting For Power In Hudson Valley
Heavy wind gusts and rain tore through the region Monday, felling trees and downing electrical wires.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Now that the rain and wind have moved out of the Hudson Valley, it's down to when the electricity will be turned back on for more than 40,000 customers. Some have estimated restoration times, while others are still pending.
In the area serviced by Central Hudson, around 8 p.m. Monday, there were more than 14,000 customers affected by power outages.
Dutchess County has more than 10,000 outages, with East Fishkill bearing the brunt with almost 2,400. The estimated time for restoration is 9 p.m. Monday. Beacon has 1,800, with restoration estimated for noon Tuesday.

Orange has 4,400, Central Hudson said. Cornwall is the hardest hit, with 2,700 customers with no power. The lights should be on by 8:30 p.m. Monday.
The 664 customers in Cold Spring, Nelsonville and Philipstown will not see power restored until noon Tuesday, Central Hudson said.

Ulster County has 677 customers without electricity. Restoration time in Gardiner, Lloyd and Plattekill is still pending.
In NYSEG's territory, Dutchess has a little more than 1,000 customers without electricity. Still hardest hit are the town and village of Pawling. While most areas are still awaiting a restoration time estimate, some could be back on line by 9 p.m. Monday.
Putnam County still has 12,000 customers waiting for electricity to come back on. Carmel and Kent have 5,500 and 3,400, respectively. Some areas will have electricity by 10 p.m. Monday. Putnam Valley has 1,400 and Southeast has 1,100.
Westchester towns served by NYSEG have more than 5,400 customers without lights. Somers is hardest hit with almost 2,000 outages, followed by Yorktown with 1,300 and Bedford with 1,100.
In the part of Orange County area served by O&R, there are 1,200 customers without power. Monroe — both the town and the village — was hardest hit with about 640 outages. Damage is still being assessed, so there are no restoration time estimates.
There are almost 700 customers in Rockland County without electricity. Clarkstown is the largest at 254. The restoration is estimated for 10:46 p.m. Monday.
In the Westchester area serviced by Con Edison, there are less than 8,000 customers in the dark. Hardest hit is the Town of Cortlandt where 2,100 are waiting for restoration, which is still pending.
Peekskill has 881 and Ossining has 800, for both the village and the town. New Castle and Briarcliff Manor have about 500 each.
Con Ed has not provided estimated restoration times for any municipalities.
