Trump Supporter Says She Was Booted from Restaurant for Political Views
The Orange County woman was wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat.
Sugar Loaf, NY — A controversy is brewing in Orange County and, depending on whom you believe, it was caused either by intoxicated guests or a red “Make America Great Again” hat and accompanying political beliefs.
Esther Levy, 61, of Warwick, said she and a companion were kicked out of the Cancun Inn in Sugar Loaf because she was wearing the hat supporting presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald J. Trump, according to Hudson Valley News Network.
She accused the Mexican restaurant’s owner, Israel Campos, of screaming at her and saying the business doesn’t serve Trump supporters.

After word of the encounter surfaced, the Facebook page for restaurant was bombarded with criticism and racist posts.
The son of the owner posted a statement on the Facebook page on behalf of his father stating that they would never discriminate against anyone “based on race, religion, gender, sexual preference or political beliefs.”

He wrote that an employee asked the patrons to leave due to their being intoxicated and that he was personally looking into the situation.
Israel Campos asked the patrons involved to call him so he can get their side of the incident.
