Video of Hudson Valley Man Who Fought for ISIS Shown in Court

Samy El-Goarany was killed in Syria in November 2015.

MIDDLETOWN, NY — A video made by an Orange County man who died more than a year ago fighting for ISIS in Syria was viewed by a federal jury hearing a case against Ahmed Mohammed El-Gammal in Manhattan.

In the video, Samy El-Goarany, a Goshen High School graduate, sits on the floor, looks into the camera and says that no one helped him or influenced him in his decision to join ISIS, the Times Herald-Record said.

El-Goarany lived with his parents in Goshen until January 2015 when he flew to Turkey and then to Syria. He was killed in November 2015.
