The Katonah-Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps is looking for additional members. As we get busier and our members get older, we must recruit new members to continue to provide the excellent service that we have been providing for 55 years. We only ask for six hours per week, and you can choose your hours. Initial training only consists of a one day orientation, plus the commitment to certify in CPR within your first six months. We have in house instructors to assist in this requirement. Additional training is optional, and we cover any expense. You also may choose the capacity in which you would like to serve: driver only, attendant only, EMT, or all of the above! We will be hosting an open house for prospective members this Saturday from 11-2. This will be a chance to ask questions, learn how we operate, and get an understanding of all aspects of our organization by meeting one-on-one informally with one of our members. Serving is actually much easier than most people realize. Anyone can do it. There are some benefits to membership, such as free pool passes from the Town of Bedford, a slight reduction in taxes, free gym membership, some social functions, and most of all meeting a fantastic group of neighbors. And of course the work we do is extremely rewarding. If you live or work within the confines of the Katonah or Bedford Hills Fire Districts we would like you to consider volunteering with us. You can apply on line at our web site - KBHVAC.org, or email me at President@kbhvac.org, or call my cell phone - 914-325-3934. Thank You. Jeff Carpenter, Presidenrt
