• Bellmore Fire Department Adds New Wheels (patch.com) — Bellmore residents can expect stronger emergency response now that the Bellmore Fire Department has put a new high-water Rescue 8 truck into service, replacing its decades-old Army-surplus vehicle. Funded by a federal grant and equipped for floods and tough terrain, the multi-use apparatus is intended to better protect the community during storms and other emergencies.
