
Elizabeth Alford, a resident of North Bellmore, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. as a National Council Delegate on May 25, at the 46th Annual Meeting held at St Francis’s DeMatteis Center. Ms. Alford joins other Board Members in their mission to provide leadership, innovation and constant support to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Council.
“Elizabeth will be a great addition to the Board of Directors,” said Donna Ceravolo, executive director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “With Elizabeth now serving on the Girl Scout of Nassau County Board, we are confident that with the help of her strong leadership, we will be able to continue our mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.”
Elizabeth Alford was nominated to serve a three-year-term as a National Council Delegate. She has been a long-time volunteer with the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. Starting out as a leader for her daughter’s Troop, Ms. Alford moved on to become a trainer, and a member of the Board of Directors, the Nominating Committee and the Hispanic/Latino Task Force. In 2005, she volunteered to assist at Girl Scouts of the USA’s 5th National Latina Conference. Currently, she serves as a member of the Adult Recognitions Committee and as Delegate Chair of the Bellmore Association.
