Editor's Note: The following release was submitted by the office of Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, R-Merrick.
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr., R-Merrick, announced that he has received the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in his re-election campaign.
“I am honored and grateful for NFIB’s endorsement and support," Fuschillo said. "Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy and we need to do everything we can to help them grow and create jobs. During this past legislative session, we did just that by cutting taxes, investing in economic development, creating programs to reward business for hiring new employees, and beginning the repeal of the MTA payroll tax. I will continue to focus on those priorities to ensure that New York State keeps heading in the right direction."
The announcement is below:
The National Federation of Independent Business, has endorsed Senator Charles Fuschillo for re-election in the 8th Senate district.
“Chuck Fuschillo continues to defend and advocate on behalf of small business,” said NFIB/New York State Director Mike Durant. “Senator Fuschillo has stood with small business on key issues this session, from enacting the property tax cap to helping push back against new, costly mandates. Chuck Fuschillo is simply the right choice for small business. We look forward to continuing to work with the Senator to reduce the cost of doing business and put New York on the path to economic revitalization."
Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB’s political support is based on the candidate’s position and record on small-business issues.
Fuschillo’s endorsement comes from the NFIB/New York SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the political action committee for NFIB/New York’s membership. The endorsement puts the considerable grassroots support of the state’s small businesses behind the Fuschillo campaign.
