Chess Master Joel Salman will conduct this lively tournament for chess enthusiasts.
Two divisions will compete:
- JUNIOR DIVISION: Grades 3-6
- SENIOR DIVISION: Grade 7 -ADULT
Five rounds of timed matches are planned for the Junior Division and four matches for the Senior Division.

Trophies will be awarded to first, second and third place winners in each division and prizes will be given to all participants who complete the tournament.
Anyone who knows how to play chess is invited to participate, but they participants must register in advance.

All residents are welcome to stop by to watch the tournament and root for their favorite players!
For chess players who did not register for the tournament but wish to play or improve their game, the library welcomes new players to its ongoing Chess Club which meets on Tuesday nights --Children (grades 2 to 6) meet at 7 p.m. and teens/adults (grade 7 to adult) at 8 p.m.
