Leg. Denenberg hosts this public information meeting regarding the August 1, 2011 voter referendum to authorize bonding up to $400 million for construction of a new coliseum and minor league baseball ballpark at the Nassau Hub. The County Executive and Legislature approved a referendum for the voters to decide if they want to fund this construction. Although not yet provided to the legislature, a proposed lease agreement between Nassau County and the New York Islanders was announced by the County Executive.
The referendum, a related new tax line, new lease agreement, related developments and other aspects of the referendum will be discussed.
