The man and woman, who are wanted in South Carolina, were found inside a Nassau County home Monday, police say.

NORTH BELLMORE, NY - Two fugitives from South Carolina who were wanted on child abuse charges were found in North Bellmore on Monday afternoon, according to Nassau Police.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Service's Regional Fugitive Task Force found 39-year-old Dekethia Harris and 38-year-old Jamel Jenkins at about 1 p.m., police said.
An investigation led detectives to a home at 700 Evelyn Avenue, where the two were placed under arrest without incident, police said.
The man and woman fled South Carolina after a child was abused and hospitalized there, police said.
The underlying charges of a South Carolina warrant are “abuse/parent, guardian, other allowing another person to inflict great bodily harm upon a child,” according to police.
Two children traveling with the Harris and Jenkins were taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Police did not release any further details on the incident.
