4. Long Island Walk to Defeat ALS Where/When? 1899 Hempstead Tpke, East Meadow; Sunday, 9:30 a.m. - 1p.m. Why Go? Get up bright and early to stretch your legs and fight for a great cause- to end ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). The walk is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Pricing: Open to all.
5. Jones Beach Rescue End of Summer Party/Fundraiser Where/When? Jones Beach State Park (West Bathhouse); Sunday, 4 p.m. Why Go? Do you love Jones Beach? Why not celebrate and support the magnificent seaside treasure on Long Island? Jones Beach Rescue, a newly formed volunteer organization, hosts an exciting End of the Summer Party Fundraiser. Pricing: $35.
