Hempstead Town Notebook: Team Murray Launches Website, Solar Panels to be Unveiled
A weekly look-in at news in the Town of Hempstead.
Team Murray Website Launches
Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and her team of running mates have announced the launch of their campaign website, www.teammurray2011.com. The website offers detailed information on the entire Team Murray slate of candidates including Councilwoman Angie Cullin, Councilmen James Darcy and Ed Ambrosino as well as Town Clerk Mark Bonilla and Receiver of Taxes Don Clavin. In addition, teammurray11.com outlines the priorities of Kate Murray and her colleagues, such as the supervisor’s plan to produce a 2012 budget that freezes all town taxes.
The democratic candidates for the 2011 town races were announced at the end of May.

'Solar Trackers' to be Unveiled Monday
Hempstead Town officials and a host of green energy partners will be unveiling two large high-tech solar energy panels called solar trackers at the Town of Hempstead Department of Conservations and Waterways in Point Lookout on Monday.
The trackers continually adjust themselves or pivot throughout the day to directly face the sun in order to maximize the energy derived from the closest star to our planet. The panels are said to increase energy output by up to 50 percent over conventional stationary photovoltaic panels.
Town Board to Meet Tuesday
The Hempstead Town Board has a meeting scheduled for July 12 at 10:30 a.m. On the agenda are issues such as parking and other regulations, which pertain to several towns including Bellmore, North Bellmore, Levittown and Oceanside.
Board of Appeals to Meet Wednesday
The Town of Hempstead Board of Appeals will hold its regularly scheduled meetings on Wednesday, July 13, at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
