LI's Pride For Youth Participating In National Give OUT Day

You can support the LGBTQ group as its members make gifts to support other non-profits across the country.

Pride for Youth, a division of Long Island Crisis Center that provides programs and services to LGBTQ young people, is excited to participate in Give OUT Day, the only national day of giving for the LGBTQ community.

The 24-hour online fundraising event unites the LGBTQ community from all 50 states and D.C. Give OUT Day 2018 takes place on Thursday, April 19 from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

Throughout the day-long event, thousands of people make gifts to support a diverse array of LGBTQ nonprofits across the country, ranging from the arts to social services agencies, advocacy groups to sports leagues, and community centers to health care nonprofits.

"This is our fifth year of taking part in Give OUT Day," said Pete Carney of Pride for Youth. "We were there from the beginning. We are immensely proud to take part in this much-needed day of fundraising to benefit LGBTQ individuals. Our organization, Pride for Youth, works to help LGBTQ young people in our community to feel empowered, stay healthy, and reach their potential as valuable, contributing members of society. We hope that our community will rise to the challenge of Give OUT Day, and help us make a real difference, right here at home.”
