
BELLMORE, NY - A masked gunman robbed a gas station in Nassau County on Sunday night, according to Nassau Police.
According to police, the man entered the Valero station at 2017 Sunrise Highway in Bellmore at about 9:53 p.m. Armed with a black and silver handgun, the man approached the counter and demanded the clerk open the cash register.
The 31-year-old clerk complied and the robber was given an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

When a customer entered the store, the robber fled on foot southbound on Centre Avenue toward Royle Street, police said.
The robber was described as 5-foot-8, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pajama pants, a black mask and black gloves.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
It's the second Bellmore gas station to be robbed in less than a week.
