Mepham, Kennedy Compete in Track and Field Championships

Sarah Rosenzweig finished in second place in the 2000-meter steeplechase.

The 2011 Nassau County Track and Field Championship kicked off on May 24 at Cold Spring Harbor High School for an exciting two-day event that would crown the top competitors in multiple events for three separate classes (AAA, AA, A).

“This event has been very well received and we were fortunate to get this facility to host. The teams have been great, the competition has been great and the times have been great,” Tournament Director Bob Bush said. “There were a lot of people to come out and just to see the support that the parents give their kids is really great as well.”

Here's how the local teams fared at the county championship.
