Three Nassau Teens Arrested For Stealing Cars

BREAKING: Police say the teens stole two different cars from their neighborhoods earlier this week.

Three Nassau teens were arrested by Nassau and Hempstead police on Thursday for stealing cars in their neighborhoods earlier this week.

According to detectives, Khalid Brown, 16, of Van Cott Avenue, Hempstead; Jerell Deleon, 16, of Walker Street, Bellmore; and a 15-year-old boy stole a 2016 Ford Escape from the driveway of a home on Boundary Road in Bellmore on Feb. 23.

During the theft, police say the teens struck the victim’s other car, which was parked behind the stolen vehicle, causing damage.

On Feb. 22, police say the three teens had stolen a 2017 Ford Explorer from Greenwich Avenue in Roosevelt.

Seventh Squad detectives located the teens, with the stolen vehicles, on Ormond Street in Bellmore, where they were placed under arrest with the assistance of Hempstead police officers. Deleon and Brown are each being charged with two counts of third-degree grand larceny, two counts of third-degree possession of stolen property and fifth-degree possession of stolen property. They were scheduled to be arraigned on Friday in First District Court in Hempstead. The juvenile is being charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and was released on a Desk Appearance Ticket.
