• County begins renewed road repaving project (tapinto.net) — Several Berlin roads are slated for fresh pavement this year as Rensselaer County restarts its repaving cycle, targeting stretches of North and South Main Street, Community Avenue, Green Hollow Road, and Taborton Road. Work has already begun elsewhere in the county, with 26 miles planned in 2026 to fix winter and heavy-use damage.
   

• BES Announces 2026 Capital Zone Sandra G. Morley Physical Education Award Recipients (berlincentral.org) — Two Berlin Elementary fifth-graders, Janiyah Devine and Ryan Sausville, have been honored with the 2026 Capital Zone Sandra G. Morley Physical Education Student Leadership Award, spotlighting Berlin’s young leaders. Recognized at Hudson Valley Community College on May 11, they were chosen for strong leadership, sportsmanship, and active lifestyles. Their PE teachers and principal say they’re extremely proud of the students’ example.
