1. 2026 LUMA features America 250 event, immersive dining experience (pressconnects.com) — Downtown Binghamton will light up Sept. 11–12 as the LUMA Projection Arts Festival returns with five major features, 10 smaller works, and a new America 250 show celebrating Broome County's history. Residents can also splurge on "Elemental: Immersive Dining" Sept. 10–12, a $175 ticketed, three-course experience where projections transform the restaurant space with each course.
   

2. Binghamton City School District Helps Roosevelt Elementary Students Transition Amid Renovations (wicz.com) — Families connected to Theodore Roosevelt Elementary are seeing big changes this fall as renovations send students to four other Binghamton City School District schools, with special meet-and-greets easing the move. Principals describe months of outreach, practice bus routes, and even daily playtime at Rec Park to help kids feel confident before the first day.
   

3. Sixth annual Tunnel 2 Towers Ride returns to Binghamton (binghamtonhomepage.com) — Motorcycle riders in Binghamton can join the sixth annual Tunnel 2 Towers Ride this Saturday, starting and ending at FX Caprara Harley Davidson on Upper Front Street. The police-led charity ride includes a loop around Cincinnatus Lake, live music, food, vendors, and appearances by the Orange County Choppers crew, with all proceeds supporting Tunnel 2 Towers.
   

4. Woman dies in crash on I-81 near Tully, state police investigating (localsyr.com) — A 24-year-old woman from Binghamton died after losing control of her car on I-81 near Tully, leading to a collision with a tractor-trailer and a major traffic backup. State police, firefighters, and medics responded, and investigators are still working to determine exactly what caused the deadly crash.
