• Researching resilience: Future global health nurse starts locally in Broome County (binghamton.edu) — A Binghamton University program is funding rising junior Rosell Hernandez to stay in Broome County this summer and conduct hands-on research on community crisis response and resilience. Through the BUPNUR and Educational Opportunity Programs, Hernandez is gaining paid research experience, mentorship, and professional skills that support his goal of becoming a global health nurse serving marginalized communities worldwide.

• VR system lets you walk your greenhouse without leaving the couch (newatlas.com) — Engineers at Binghamton University have created a VR “digital twin” system that lets users virtually walk through a greenhouse and monitor each plant in real time. The project, led from the university’s electrical and computer engineering department, could eventually automate irrigation, nutrients, and climate control while enabling remote collaboration among farmers, students, and researchers.
