3 Taken To Hospital After Drunk Driver Crashes Car On LI: Police

AMITYVILLE, NY — A 42-year-old Central Islip man has been charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed his car in Amityville, injuring three people, the Amityville Police Department said.

Jeffrey M. White was traveling southbound in his four-door sedan when it careened into shops on Park Avenue at about 3 a.m., according to police. The three people who were injured were taken to local hospitals for treatment, but the extent of their injuries is unknown, police said.

White was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, according to police.
