Named after the Yerbabruja, a medicinal plant from Puerto Rico that flourishes in the harshest of conditions, the organization offers numerous programs anchored in the values of racial justice that honor the contributions of people of color, and that are "truly diverse, equitable, and inclusive."

The Puerto Rican Hispanic Parade is a tradition of the Brentwood community that began in 1963, its website said. Every year, about 3,000 participants from different organizations and cultural groups march with their typical dances and floats throughout the 5th avenues.
