Detectives say they traced the 2012 Honda Accord involved and charged the driver with leaving the scene of a fatal crash, while emphasizing he remains presumed innocent as the investigation continues.
• Newsday's top 10 Long Island high school boys soccer team rankings (newsday.com) — Brentwood High's boys soccer team is sitting near the top of Newsday's Long Island rankings, boasting an impressive 11-1 record despite graduating most starters. Under first-year coach Victor Farfan, the team has already avenged its lone loss and remains a strong contender for another Suffolk League I title against top programs across Nassau and Suffolk.
• Marriage licenses filed and divorces filed for Saturday, Oct. 10 (themercury.com) — One of the latest marriage licenses filed includes a Brentwood resident, listed alongside couples from Manhattan, Fort Riley, Kansas City, and beyond. While the records are mostly from outside Long Island, they still officially note a Brentwood local's upcoming marriage in the public rolls.
