Brentwood Guidance Counselor Recognized by The College Board

Brentwood, N.Y. (April 2019)—Brentwood Union Free School District is proud to congratulate a remarkable employee on her recognition by The College Board. Freshman Center guidance counselor Antoinette Shervington was recognized for her unwavering commitment to advance the lives of young people via her youth advocacy, college and career readiness initiatives and grass roots approach to creating pathways of success for students at Brentwood High School.

“We are proud of Antoinette for her 27 years of patience and commitment to develop academic and career goals, provide interventions and guidance, and asses our students’ knowledge and abilities,” said Mr. Richard Loeschner, superintendent of Brentwood Union Free School District. “Antoinette has been instrumental in the development of our students’ academic and social skills necessary to lead successful lives. We are grateful to have staff like Antoinette who truly want what’s best for our students.”

The College Board aims to highlight the important work of innovative, results-oriented middle and high school counselors who exemplify excellence and commitment to students’ opportunity and success. Award recipients demonstrate leadership and advocacy in school counseling practices, initiatives and programs focused on career readiness outcomes.
