Brentwood Women Fight Back Against Breast Cancer
BUFSD Will Celebrate Survivors and Promote Breast Cancer Education and Awareness

Brentwood, N.Y. (May 2019)—Brentwood Union Free School District (BUFSD) will unite the community with a shared determination to make strides against breast cancer during its Brentwood Women Fight Back Against Breast Cancer walk on May 18, 2019. Co-sponsored by the Brentwood Board of Education, Adelphi Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program, Project Presence and Stony Brook Hospital, the event will salute survivors and raise scholarship funds for students of survivors.
Registration for the walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Brentwood High School’s track. The walk will begin at 10 a.m. sharp. Attendees are encouraged to visit the Sonderling Senior Café at 10:30 a.m. to explore a variety of games and raffles for all ages. Co-sponsors will facilitate educational seminars and provide stress-relieving strategies to enlighten attendees on self-checks, early detection, signs and symptoms of the disease.
Tickets are available for purchase for $5 per person or $35 for a table of 8 people—space is limited. Please contact Jeanette Villa at 631-424-2334 or jvilla@bufsd.org to purchase tickets. The district invites members of the community to honor local survivors with their families, promote breast cancer education and awareness and provide scholarship funds to families who have been impacted by the disease.
