Why are you seeking elective office?
To bring my valuable community service reputation to the residence of Islip, who so desperately want to see a change in Town Hall. Address the lack of communication and response from the town to its residents on important issues. Address and come up with a plan to deal with taxes, Infrastructure, roads, and overdevelopment. To create language accessibility for all residents from different cultural backgrounds. I would like to streamline the process for small businesses to open their businesses in the town.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Lack of communication with its residents on extremely important issues like zoning, overdevelopment, and blighted buildings. Create an open-door policy and make myself more accessible for residents to be heard on important issues.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I'm a great communicator/ listener with impeccable speaking skills. I'm a people person. I enjoy helping people come up with solutions to their problems. I'm a doer, closer, finisher.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
Lack of communication with its residents on extremely important issues like zoning, overdevelopment, and blighted buildings.
How do you think local officials performed in responding to the coronavirus? What if anything would you have done differently?
The town could have been more proactive versus reactive during Covid. I would have sought for more help from our other government agencies in a quicker manner.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
Our theme is 'With the People, For the People.' The people need to be heard.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
27 years in law enforcement, 15 years as an instructor, writing and creating lesson plans helping to create policy.
The best advice ever shared with me was:
Love yourself and be true to who you are as a person.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
We will strive every day to make the town of Islip better than what it was. We will not be afraid to speak up and out on issues that are not good for our communities. I will work to create more unity and activities in all our communities for a better Islip starting in District 2. Work with our other elected officials on downtown revitalization projects. Complete bipartisan participation without the rhetoric. Residence of Islip first and foremost.
