Central Islip School Budget Results Are In

Central Islip residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

Central Islip residents approved the district's $210,833,025 proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 387 to 158.

The budget represents a 3.54 percent spending increase over the current year and a tax levy increase of 1.69 percent.

In the vote for Central Islip Board of Education members, both Fred Philips and William Softy ran unopposed. Philips received a total of 384 votes and Softy received 357 votes.
