Central Islip Students Collect Donations For Victims Of Hurricane Maria
Tens of thousands of items were sent to Puerto Rico to help the residents recovering from the recent hurricane.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - Students, members of the National Junior Honor Society, and the administration, faculty and staff from Reed Middle School in Central Islip conducted a drive to collect items for families in Puerto Rico.
The drive was started to help the island's residents, many of whom lost their belongings and homes following Hurricane Maria.
Tens of thousands of items including cases of water, non-perishable foods, soaps, hygiene and first aid items, cases of disposable baby diapers, bags of dog food and much, much more were collected through the drive.

The collection was being delivered to Brentwood Fire Department for shipment by the US Army to Puerto Rico where the much-needed items will be distributed.
