Man Kept Pit Bulls Tied In Backyard With No Water: SPCA

The 72-year-old was charged with animal cruelty for neglecting his two dogs, the SPCA said.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - A Central Islip man was charged on Sunday with animal cruelty after keeping his two dogs tied up with no shelter or water, according to the Suffolk SPCA.

Jacques Henri , 72, was charged with neglecting his two dogs, Blue, a 2-year-old female pit bull and King, a 1-year-old male pit bull, that were confined in a backyard where there was no shelter or water present, the SPCA said.

Blue was underweight which was caused by malnutrition, the SCPA said.

King was found tethered to a fence for over an hour on a 2-foot tether with open sores on his ears, the SCPA said.

Henri, is scheduled to appear in 1st District Court on Dec. 5.
