Missing Islandia Woman Found At Hospital With Injury: Police

ISLANDIA, NY — A missing Islandia woman who was the subject of a Silver Alert has been located, Suffolk County police said.

Luz Giraldo, 65, was found at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury, police said.

Further details about how Giraldo was located were not immediately available.

Giraldo had been reported missing after leaving her home on Sycora Lane on Wednesday morning and was last seen walking in the area at about 8:30 a.m., police said.

Police had issued a Silver Alert because Giraldo had been showing signs of dementia.

The Silver Alert has been canceled, police said.
