Parent Information Night at Laurel Park Elementary School

Brentwood's Laurel Park Elementary School Hosts Information Session for Families

Brentwood, NY (October 2018) —The Brentwood Union Free School District’s (BUFSD) Laurel Park Elementary School is excited to announce its annual Parent Information Night, an event to keep families informed about happenings and activities going on this school year. On October 23, 2018, parents and students are invited to attend the information session to better acquaint themselves with other district parents and faculty, and learn about opportunities BUFSD offers.

“Parent Information Night is an exciting event the community looks forward to each year,” said Superintendent of Schools Richard Loeschner. “The district organizes the event to provide families with the information they need to foster conversations about school-related activities at home and better understand what their children are working on in the classroom.”

Between 6:30-7:00 p.m., parents and students can attend grade-level workshops where each teacher will be distributing information about curriculum for the designated grade. Teachers will also provide different study tips, skills for math and reading that parents can work on at home with their children, and resourceful websites that can be accessed at home.

Between 7:00-7:30 p.m., parents will be directed to the gymnasium where they will have the opportunity to engage with other families in the district and enjoy a dance group performance. Community vendors will also be in attendance to discuss different services and opportunities they can provide.

Between 7:30-8:00 p.m., parents and students will be invited to the cafeteria where they will join together for a “Taste of Brentwood.” Different restaurants located in the Brentwood community have generously volunteered to provide food for families and faculty to dine with one another and converse about their visions and hope for students this year.
