Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Car: PD

The crash was reported Sunday night.

BRENTWOOD, NY - A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a car in Brentwood on Sunday night, according to Suffolk Police.

Concepcion Zavala, 52, of Brentwood was crossing Washington Avenue eastbound when he was struck by a 2006 Nissan Altima traveling southbound on Heyward Street at 10:30 p.m.

Zavala was then transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries.

The driver of the Nissan, 45-year-old Patricia Ramirez, also of Brentwood, was not injured.

The Nissan was impounded for a safety check.
