• DEC: Battery Fire a Possible Cause of East Hampton Well Contamination (eastendbeacon.com) — Two Suffolk County Water Authority wells at the Bridgehampton Road Wellfield remain shut after chemicals linked to a 2023 East Hampton battery storage fire were found above state limits. DEC investigators now believe a vapor-based fire suppression system, mixed with massive amounts of water, likely created PFAS contamination that migrated south toward Bridgehampton’s drinking water supply, prompting lawsuits and new scrutiny of BESS projects.
   

• Art Hampton & The HUB Present 'A New Beginning' • James Lane Post • Hamptons Culture & Lifestyle Magazine (jameslanepost.com) — Bridgehampton residents can step into a new month-long art exhibition, “A New Beginning,” opening this Friday, September 18, at The HUB in the center of town. Featuring 26 artists and a catered opening reception, the show aims to turn The HUB into a gathering place where local community, art, and business intersect throughout the early fall season.
   

• Target opening new stores soon, with dozens more ‘upcoming' (wavy.com) — A new Target store is scheduled to open in Bridgehampton on October 11, bringing a roughly 90,000-square-foot location with a Starbucks Café to town. The store is part of Target’s nationwide expansion and will be smaller than the new Texas locations but similar to other large-format sites, giving local shoppers another major retail option close to home.
