• The Golden Girls Return to OFC (westsidenewsny.com) — Brighton’s OFC Creations Theatre Center is hosting a new Golden Girls parody musical, “Over the Rainbow,” running May 14–31 as part of its Broadway in Brighton Series. Featuring a professional cast and mature humor, the show reimagines Dorothy and friends in a Wizard of Oz-style TV adventure, with tickets available online or by phone.
   

• Brighton students fly to Washington, D.C. to compete in National Science Bowl finals (whec.com) — Brighton High School’s Science Bowl team is in Washington, D.C. this weekend, representing the Rochester area in the National Science Bowl finals after winning the Western New York regional title. The students, coaches, and families hope to bring home funding for Brighton’s math and science programs, with top teams earning thousands of dollars for their schools before the competition wraps up May 4.
   

• Best and worst small cities to start a business in New York (timestelegram.com) — Brighton ranks among New York’s better small cities for starting a business, coming in at No. 448 nationally in a new WalletHub study. The report compares 1,334 small cities on business environment, access to resources, and costs, and finds New York’s small cities generally lag, though Poughkeepsie and Brighton perform relatively well.
