Super Foodtown of Throggs Neck Marks 20 Years and Grand Reopening with Celebration, Ribbon Cutting, and More

“As immigrants, this business is what helped put us through school, it’s what our dad did when we first came to this country back in 2010,” said John Sun, co-owner of Super Foodtown of Throggs Neck. “It has been a great opportunity for my sister and me. She was actually thrown into the business during COVID, and it was not easy, but I watched her lead and grow, and it was truly amazing. This is a tough, competitive business, but through our dad’s resilience and perseverance, we have been able to expand. Now we are operating three major stores, and we hope to keep growing.”
As one of the longest-standing supermarkets in the area, Super Foodtown of Throggs Neck has evolved alongside its customers. The reopening event reflected this legacy and looked ahead to the future, with the Sun family reaffirming their mission to provide affordable, high-quality groceries in a warm, welcoming environment.
