4-Year-Old Makayla Manners - Shot in the Face - Dies
The Yonkers girl accidentally shot herself May 25.
Four-year-old Yonkers girl Makayla Manners died May 29 of injuries she suffered after she accidentally shooting herself in the face a few days before, according to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.
The shooting occurred in her family’s Walnut Street apartment late on Memorial Day, and while police have preliminarily indicated it appears the incident was accidental and self-inflicted, it remains under investigation.
WNBC-TV reports the investigation is partly centering on how and where the girl found the semi-automatic weapon.
