4th Annual Village Lutheran Church and The Chapel School Holiday Service Evening

Bronxville, NY- On Wednesday, December 3rd, members of the The Chapel School and Village Lutheran Church community participated in their 4th annual holiday service evening at the Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen in Mount Vernon, NY. The soup kitchen is run by Community Service Associates, INC. “It has been the mission of Community Service Associates, Inc. since 1988 to provide vital services to the Mt. Vernon Community with programs that nourish not only the physical needs, but also the social and psychological needs of the poor and disenfranchised.”

Guests of the soup kitchen were treated to a performance by The Chapel School’s Chamber and Select Choirs. They were also treated to meatloaf, roasted potatoes, chopped vegetables, and chocolate chip cookies prepared by Chapel School parents and Village Lutheran Church members. Students helped to serve the meals. “This yearly tradition is a wonderful way to share the spirit of the holiday season with those in need in our community,” stated one parent.
