Bronxville Historical Society Hosts Sept. 18 Gala
The event will honor lifelong Westchester resident and Anne Hutchinson-Bronxville Chapter DAR Member, Virginia Kathryn Hefti.

The 1835 Marble Schoolhouse in Bronxville will be the setting for the Historical Society’s September 18th Gala, honoring lifelong Westchester resident and Anne Hutchinson-Bronxville Chapter DAR Member, Virginia Kathryn Hefti.
A direct descendant of Henry Fowler, the progenitor of one of the town’s founding families, Hefti - whose august roster of ancestors rank among the most influential families in the history of New York State (e.g. Fish, Fowler, Thorne, Bowne, Reynolds, et al) - was also honored at The Bronxville Field Club in 2014.

The widow of former Commissioner of Planning and Community Development Robert T. Hefti - who conceived and developed Lake Isle Country Club for the town - Muzzy, as she is known to friends and family, thrice served as Regent of the White Plains Chapter DAR; is a Lifetime Member of the DAR Officers Club; a member of the DAR Roundtable; a member of the Anne Hutchinson-Bronxville Chapter DAR; a member of the Westchester County Genealogical Society; served as a Councillor to the New York State Chapter of the National Society Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America and is an avid genealogy researcher, having corrected the historic records of the National Archives on more than one occasion, receiving both thanks and credit for her academic contributions to the archival integrity of American History.
In addition to Mrs. Hefti being honored at the Gala, guests will also be treated to an educational performance by Jack Sherry, renowned in the historic community for his riveting and informative portrayal of Ben Franklin.
This special September 18th event will begin with a Cocktail Hour at 6:30pm, followed by a dinner at 7:30pm. Event tickets are available to the public for $100 each. Tickets can also be purchased for the Cocktail Hour-Only for $25 each. Please RSVP to the Historical Society by September 12th.
