Bronxville PD Issues Over 200 Traffic Tickets In Just One Week

In a week long traffic detail aimed at nabbing unsafe drivers who speed through high traffic areas, Bronxville Police also targeted drunk drivers and distracted drivers as well.

Bronxville Chief of Police Christopher Satriale is making it very clear that his department is going to do what ever is necessary to minimize the incidence of speeding, driving while intoxicated and distracted driving, as a concentrated effort throughout the week in selected areas has yielded 210 citations from his department.

Police officers, working in tandem with special enforcement teams in primarily unmarked police cars, used their time wisely to inform offending drivers of vehicle and traffic laws which the drivers may have previously disregarded.

The keenly-focused enforcement, in response to multiple complaints from area residents and law-abiding drivers, has been deemed a successful endeavor by the department.

"While we continually monitor vehicle and traffic laws diligently throughout the year, this special detail has allowed us to concentrate efforts on specific problems in specific areas," said Satriale.

Speeding and distracted driving (cellular phone use) in school zones, and in other highly traveled areas such as White Plains Road, were offenses most cited according to police.

"Insuring public safety includes addressing quality of life issues, and safety on our roadways will remain a top priority," continued Satriale.
