Floor & Decor Opening New Westchester Location At Former Stop & Shop Location

MOUNT VERNON, NY — A former Stop & Shop has gotten a remodel, and you might not recognize the place.

And now the new tenants, Floor & Decor are hoping to help you do the same with your space.

A national retailer specializing in hard-surface flooring for homeowners and professionals has announced the grand opening of its newest Westchester County location, at 240 E. Sandford Blvd., in Mount Vernon. The store will be open on weekdays, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.; on Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and on Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The warehouse store and design center offers a variety of in-stock hard-surface flooring, including tile, wood, laminate, vinyl, and natural stone, along with decorative accessories and wall tile and installation materials.

The Mount Vernon store will open with a team of around 50 full-time and part-time associates, and will be led by Sarah Chavez, the store's Chief Executive Merchant.

"Bringing Floor & Decor to Mount Vernon is an exciting milestone for our team," Chavez said. "For more than 25 years, we've focused on making quality, trend-forward hard surface flooring accessible to everyone, and we're proud to extend that commitment to this community. We look forward to serving our new customers and helping bring their ideas to life."

Founded in 2000, the Atlanta-based company operates more than 270 warehouse-format stores and five design studios across 39 states.

In celebration of the Mount Vernon store opening, starting Thursday, April 23 until Wednesday, April 29, Floor & Decor will host its 7 Days of Deals promotion along with daily events at the location, with giveaways, installation demos from leading industry brands, and the chance to win a $1,000 Floor & Decor gift card each day throughout the promotion. The weeklong celebration will also include exclusive promotions, including 10 percent off when customers at the Mount Vernon location buy 10 or more of the same item from participating brands on their featured day.

Here's the full schedule of events:

• Thursday, April 23: Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at 10 a.m., in partnership with the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce and the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce. A complimentary breakfast food truck will be on site from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. The first 200 customers will receive free Floor & Decor buckets.
• Friday, April 24: Laticrete will have installation demos at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 1 p.m. Customers can receive 10 perecent off when they buy 10 or more Laticrete products. Free hats will be given to the first 200 customers.
• Saturday, April 25: Super Saturday Event, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring local businesses such as Project Hot Sauce and Honey Notes. Customers 18 and older can participate in Floor & Decor's Crack the Code game for a chance to win up to $100,000. The first 200 customers will receive free items from participating local vendors.
• Sunday, April 26: Home Trend Presentation from Top Designers. Free samples will be available with a design appointment. A complimentary ice cream cart will be on site from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• Monday, April 27: Mapei will have installation demos at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 1 p.m. Customers can receive 10 percent off when they buy 10 or more Mapei products. Free tumblers will be given to the first 200 customers.
• Tuesday, April 28: Schluter will have installation demos at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 1 p.m. Customers can receive 10 percent off when they buy 10 or more Schluter products. The first 200 customers will receive free t-shirts.
• Wednesday, April 29: wedi will have installation demos at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 1 p.m. Customers can receive 10 percent off when they buy 10 or more wedi products. Free tote bags will be given to the first 200 customers.
