Bronxville Police Blotter: April 26 – May 2
A look at some the incidents investigated by the department
Here is a rundown of a few of the incidents reported by the Bronxville Police Department during the week of April 26 – May 2.
April 26:
11:05 am. Police responded to a call about a suspicious person at Swoozie's on Pondfield Road. The manager of the store reported a possible shoplifter and gave a description. Police soon found the person, a 72-year-old Yonkers woman, walking down Pondfield Road. She was in possession of two nylon Wish bracelets from Swoozie's as well as two diaries taken from Bronxville Stationers, according to police. The items were returned and both stores opted not to press charges.

April 28:
1:45 pm. While driving on Sagamore Road, a 46-year-old Yonkers woman lost control of her car and hit a light pole. The woman, Marites Mikaelian, was transported to Lawrence Hospital Center after complaining of mouth pain from a deployed air bag. The light pole was owned by the village, so Mikaelian received a summons for damage to public property. She is due in Village Court on May 19.

8:30 pm. Police responded to a call about disorderly conduct at Wild Ginger on Park Place. The owner and a customer were in an argument because the customer was unhappy with what he received, police reported. The customer eventually agreed to leave.
April 30:
7:04 am: A Locust Lane resident reported hearing an explosion. Although the noise was possibly due to a transformer explosion, police were unable to find it. Later, a few residents reported losing power and Con Ed was informed.
May 2:
4:22 pm: A 39-year-old New Rochelle resident was stopped on Pondfield Road driving with a suspended registration after being detected by a license plate reader. The car, a 1998 Mercedes-Benz, was towed and the driver, Egidio Honorino, is due in Village Court on May 19.
7:35 pm: A 22-year-old Yonkers resident was stopped on Midland Avenue for driving with a suspended registration and without car insurance, after his license plate was detected by the reader. The driver, Abraham Abady, is due in Village Court on May 19, and his vehicle was impounded.
