Bronxville Police Blotter August 16 – 22: DWI Arrest

A look at some of the incidents investigated by the Bronxville Police Department.

A look at some of the incidents investigated by the Bronxville Police Department for the week of August 16 - August 22, 2010. 

August 16:

2:39 p.m. Police received a call about a car being driven erratically on Pondfield Road. Upon investigation, police say that the driver was driving while intoxicated. The 52-year-old Darien, CT resident, who was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer, was arrested, and a breath test was given to determine his blood alcohol content. It showed that he was driving with a blood alcohol content of .33%, which police said is more than four times the legal limit. He was taken to the hospital, where he was arraigned. The driver was arrested and charged with DWI, along with an additional charge of aggravated DWI, for operating a motor vehicle with a .18 BAC or more. At the arraignment, his license was revoked and he is due in court on September 1.

August 17

11:35 a.m. A resident reported to police that her car had been broken into. Upon investigation, police found that the passenger window of the 2003 Honda Odyssey was broken and a $10 bill was taken from the cup holder.

1:11 p.m. The license plate reader detected that a 2010 Toyota had a suspended registration. The driver, a White Plains resident, was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. The car was impounded and the driver is set to appear in court on September 1.

August 18:

7 p.m. Police stopped two Yonkers teens and charged them with consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place. Police had seen the 16-year-olds were drinking beer in Sagamore Park. They are both set to appear in court on September 1.

August 20:

9:26 p.m. A 17-year-old Cortland Manor teen was issued an appearance ticket. Police asked the teen to stop blowing an air horn on Pondfield Road. He refused and was given the ticket. He is set to appear in court on September 1.

11:54 p.m. Police stopped a 17-year-old Yonkers resident who they say was intoxicated by alcohol in front of 29 Park Place. Police said the teen was abusive and using obscene language in a public place. The teen was taken by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation. She was given an appearance ticket and is due in court on September 1.

August 22:

12:20 a.m. Officers stopped a car that was driving the wrong way on the west side traffic circle. Upon investigation, police found that the 24-year-old Yonkers resident was driving the 2006 Toyota with a suspended registration. The car was impounded and she was issued a summons for driving the wrong way and for driving with a suspended registration.
