With the strong winds this evening we have experienced many trees and limbs down.
While we suffered incredible flooding and continue to experience power outages i am pleased to report that no injuries were reported as a result of hurricane irene.
Please stay away from any downed wires and assume that all wires are live. often con edison will make repairs in one location which may result in a secondary location becoming live.
Con Edison has restored power to many homes that experienced outages. We still have outages on:
Avon Road
Northern Avenue
Northwestway
Parkway Road
Dewitt Avenue and other isolated outages.
If you do not have power and have not yet reported it to Consolidated Edison please do so immediately 1-800-75-CONED. We have been advised by Con Edison that all power should be restored no later than Thursday 9/1.
The village remains under a State of Emergency and will continue to suspend parking meter rules and overnight parking enforcement through Tuesday, 08/30.
To ease the difficult task of cleanup we have also lifted the ban on gasoline powered leaf blowers through 09/02.
Thank you for your cooperation and good luck as we recover from this devastating storm.
